The Map in the Backpack

*Inspired by Proverbs 3:5 — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”*

Maya stared at the blank page in her notebook.

It was supposed to be her “future plan.”

Everyone else had something written — doctor, artist, athlete, engineer.

Maya had… nothing.

She felt lost.

Like everyone else had a map, and she was just wandering.

That night, she sat on her bed, hugging her backpack.

She whispered, *“God, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.”*

She didn’t expect an answer.

But she opened her Bible anyway — the one tucked in her backpack since camp.

The page she landed on said:

**“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”**

She read it again.

Then again.

It didn’t tell her what job to pick.

It didn’t give her a five-step plan.

But it did something else.

It reminded her that she wasn’t alone.

That she didn’t need to know everything.

That maybe the next step was just… trust.

The next day, Maya wrote something new on her notebook page:

I don’t know my whole path yet.

But I trust God to guide me.

And I’ll take the next wise step.

She smiled.

It wasn’t a perfect map.

But it was a beginning.
