Day 6 Proverbs 6 The Ant and the Alarm

Jordan hated waking up early.

Every morning, his alarm went off at 6:30, and every morning he hit snooze… once… twice… sometimes three times.

One day, he overslept so badly that he missed an important school project presentation. His teacher pulled him aside and said gently, “Jordan, you’re smart. But even smart people fall behind when they ignore the small things.”

That afternoon, Jordan sat outside thinking. He noticed a line of ants carrying crumbs twice their size. They weren’t waiting for someone to tell them what to do. They weren’t complaining. They weren’t procrastinating.

They were preparing.

Working.

Moving with purpose.

Jordan whispered, “If ants can do it… maybe I can too.”

The next morning, he made a choice. When the alarm rang, he sat up immediately. No snooze. No excuses.

It wasn’t easy at first. But each day he got a little stronger — not just in waking up, but in taking responsibility.

Jordan learned something Proverbs teaches clearly: Wisdom grows in people who don’t wait to be pushed.

Core Truth: Wisdom grows when you take responsibility instead of waiting for someone to push you.

Action Step

Choose one area where you’ve been procrastinating — chores, homework, prayer, cleaning your room — and take action before someone asks.

Reflection Question

What small responsibility have you been avoiding that you can take care of today?

Scripture Echo

Proverbs 6:6–8“Go to the ant… consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer.”

Prayer

“God, help me take responsibility without being pushed. Teach me to be wise, disciplined, and ready.”
