Day 4 Proverbs 4 The Guarded Heart

Guarding Your Heart Shapes Your Life

Glow Story

Jordan was walking home from school when he passed a group of kids hanging out near the corner store. One of them called out, “Hey Jordan! Come chill with us!”

He paused. He knew them. They weren’t bad — but they were always getting into trouble. Skipping class. Talking trash. Daring each other to do dumb stuff.

Jordan felt the pull. He didn’t want to seem stuck-up. He didn’t want to be alone.

But then he remembered something his grandpa said: “Your heart is like a garden. If you don’t protect it, weeds will grow.”

Jordan smiled politely and kept walking.

Later that night, he wrote in his journal: “I want to guard my heart. I want to be strong enough to walk away when something doesn’t feel right.”

Proverbs 4 says to guard your heart above all else — because everything you do flows from it.

Jordan didn’t judge the other kids. He just chose to protect his garden.
